Ask LSOP # 33 - Pegging for beginners

So at the taboo show this weekend (which was amazing by the way,  thank you so much for the free tickets) my wife bought a surprise bag from you guys and it had a "Pegging Kit" in it. We had no idea what that word even meant but after some googling and pornhubbing, haha, I was surprised how into the idea my wife was! I have had ZERO anal experience but seeing how excited the idea got her it's something I'm willing to try.

I know compared to the other toys in your store this toy is tiny, but well… I'm honestly intimidated by it! Any help you can offer? I thought I was well experienced in the bedroom but I feel like a fumbling virgin again.

Thank you so much for your letter and kind words!

Pegging is defined by Wikipedia as "A sexual practice in which a woman performs anal sex on a man by penetrating the man's anus with a strap-on dildo". This reversal of typical roles [for cis straight couples] during penetrative sex can be an exciting change that allows each one to experience different movement, sensation, and positions- and for some a different perspective on the dynamic of sex. For the receptive male partner, pegging can be a great way to stimulate the prostate, and incorporate this type of stimulation into intimate partner play.

Here a few tips to make sure your pegging experience is pleasurable...

If you're completely new to any kind of anal play, I recommend reading this post, which discusses the basics.

Before you get started, ensure that you've had a solid bowel movement prior to anal penetration. Some people like to prepare for anal sex by douching/doing an enema, but this is entirely optional.

Start off small, if you don't think you will be ready for the strap-on and toy from the surprise bag right away, start with a smaller plug or get your partner to finger you before you move onto the toy. Using rubber gloves can help make things glide a little more smoothly by covering any rough cuticles and keeping lube from absorbing into the skin.

Take your time! There is no rush here and even if you can't do it right away, or even at all, no worries! You should have been having lots of fun to get to this point right? Try again after some more prep work and get comfortable with the new sensations. Remember to communicate! Your wife can’t feel what you’re feeling, and she won't know what you need unless you tell her.

Positions matter! In "doggy style" your partner can keep themselves steady and you can control the movement. Face-to-face positions with the guy on top can be great way for the person getting penetrated to control the pace and depth. Spooning can also be great way to ease into it comfortably. Once you get comfortable, it is easier to switch to desired positions.
