It's been a few years since Womanizer's "Pleasure Air Technology" made waves in the sex toy industry, and frankly an air pulsator toy made for penises was way overdue. That's why this month we've decided to feature the Arcwave Ion, a recent and entirely unique addition to the WOW Tech (formed in 2018 when Womanizer and We-Vibe joined forces) lineup that is designed especially for penises.

What is Pleasure Air Technology?

Womanizer's patented technology was designed to gently and indirectly stimulate the clitoris using fluctuating air pressure.

The scooped head of the toy is placed over the clitoris, with its soft silicone edges creating a seal around the bundle of nerves that allows the fluttering vacuum to delicately stimulate while drawing blood to the area, increasing sensitivity and hastening the arousal process. It's pretty effective- so much so that a whole bunch of other companies had their own versions of the toy out before Womanizer's patents could be finalized.

There have been many iterations since the release of the original Womanizer in a range of shapes, sizes, and colours, though until now all have shared the same essential design- situating the head of the toy between the labia and against the clitoris.

A toy for every body

While there's certainly no reason that any air pulsator couldn't be used to stimulate any erogenous zone on any body, the Arcwave Ion is the first toy of its kind designed for penis owners specifically. The cupped air pulsator is situated inside a ribbed, open-ended sleeve made from an unbelievably soft silicone, oriented to stimulate the frenulum of the penis.

The curved inner channel of the Ion cradles the shaft of the penis, with its shape and the plush silicone creating a better seal and more effectively translating the airwaves to the sensitive pacinian pleasure receptors of the frenulum.

Tech and specs

The Arcwave Ion is rechargeable, with a powerful motor and and eight intensity levels that can be selected using the clearly labelled buttons on the exterior of the toy. It's completely waterproof, meaning it can be used submersed in a bath or hot tub, and twists easily into two pieces so that it can be thoroughly cleaned. The Ion charges magnetically on the included charging dock, which also serves as a discreet storage case. Inside the vented case a rod containing silica wicks moisture to help dry the toy after cleaning.
